The majority of steel that Australia(Bluescope) send to the USA is feed coil to a company called Steelscape who are on the West Coast. BSL have been supplying Steelscape for decades and Steelscape would find it very difficult and expensive to try to source their requirement from a domestic USA supplier as most of their steel industry is East of the Rockies. Trump will put in the exemption for Steel due to commercial reasons not any political pressure the Australian Government think they might have.
