Well said Boswell. Its interesting who you find at the end of the line in regards to investments in renewable energy which is a good reason to question the scientific information were given. Anyone who collects and reports on data understands there is many ways to represent a picture.
People with opinions don't often understand the impact Co2 has on the earth and how it has naturally assisted in giving us a planet with a very liveable climate and without it we would be much cooler than we would like.
That may now sound great for an argument that suggests Co2 isnt an issue for the environment if i limited my argument with confirmation bias but you need to look further and understand the process of how Co2 limits the dispersion of heat from the planet and with growing levels what story the prediction models tell. Its a very simple concept I bet the same people who don't believe still refer to the weather forecast...
What i find amusing is that in today's world we still have people who base there arguments on there own 30-80 year life experience in there own parts of the world. This is very small minded.
It is also entertaining that many who have an understanding of the science have a limited ability to demonstrate and dont have the patience to explain it to others in a manner that they can understand being constructive.
I'm not going to talk about this subject on hotcopper again as it frightens me how many people have opinions without any real research on the subject.
The last thing I will say is in regards to renewable energy im surprised both parties dont jump on the concept to be less reliant on fossil fuels regardless of emissions. With time, money and research renewable energy will only get more advanced and who wants to be reliant on living on the grid. Living green is a much harder argument to win.
