China is restricting exports because their own farmers are being hit by rising Urea prices and they need more supplies themselves. Not through any payback for criticism as it is affecting all countries that obtain supplies from China.
Point the finger here at home. For a country that has massive requirements for urea in both fertilizer and transport we have not developed much of our own. Despite having massive amounts of raw materials and a relatively simple chemical process.
Even if trucking companies get approval to disable the ECU it will take a very long time for the hundred thousand or so trucks on our roads to undergo this. It is not something a home mechanic can do easily. I remap of a 4WD engine to increase power/torque by an auto tuning shop costs big dollars I heard that Toll and Linfox have about 80,000 alone.
Small 1600cc diesels may go a long time but other 4WD such as defenders will not. And if fuel tankers cannot deliver ULP or Jet fuel then guess what??
Barnaby had better come up with something pretty soon but history suggests he will not.
