Now they are putting up the price on all other fertilizers.
On Saturday the 31st of May, both MAP & DAP and most other fetilizers are going up another $200 per tonne. The price rises of the last month or so are equivalent to what us farmers had to pay for a tonne of super. only a couple of years ago. MAP will now be above $1600. IMO I can't see them selling too much next year if these prices keep going up any more. Every farmer will be cutting it to the bone.
I heard today that when they put Urea up $200 a week or two back they had a 36,000 tonne vessel ready to be unloaded at Geelong. Nice little bit of profit on that load on top of what they already had in storage.
Crop is in. Now we need more rain to get them all growing.
