you can only claim a loss for tax purposes when you realise the actual loss.
so you can sell the shares to a 3rd party. you don't need to do that on ASX, you can do that as an off-market transfer. get the form from Share registry or online.
OR - you wait for the Liquidator to formally advise that they do not expect any return to shareholders.
that usually takes ages.
