Jasonj. I've no proof of this, only that I've heard such talk in military circles. In recent decades Iran has been recognised as a middle-east centre for technical ingenuity. They also (reportedly) have developed some quite scary weapons of the like that there are as yet no defences against. Apparently the iranians have some kind of long range underwater missile that has been successfully tested a few years back. Also, compared to Iraq, Irans missiles are quite accurate and have undergone much more rigorous testing.
If anyone knows more about the 'underwater missiles' please let us know because that sounds very interesting and maybe does give them some claim to be capable of interrupting shipping.
