US Department of the Interior awards Avita a US$1.8 mllion grant via the Office of Technology Transition and the Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organisation's Limb Salvage and Regenerative Medicine Initiative.
The contract will fund an FDA clinical trial for treating scars and dyspigmentation with ReCell. An Investigational Device Exemption will be prepared and submitted by US DoD sponsors and key investigators....
A spokesperson for the OTT said "The Initiative selected ReCell as it thinks it will be a quantum advance over the existing ability to treat scars and regrow tisssue, and to substantially reduce the effects and appeaarnce of scarring, and therefore profoundly assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of wounded warriors suffering from disfigurement and impeded function due to combat injuries.
"We are pleased to be a partner in bringing this valuable technology to clinical availability."
