3 things worry me about Qbe right now.
1. In May 15 update, they advised all their markets are still very competitive. My take is they have retained and lost some business on similar or less profitable pricing. No real organic growth in premium income.
2. The US crop business is still very vulnerable with extensive flooding causing a lot of farmers to make claims for not being able to plant seeds.
3. US force placed insurance business still rapidly declining and incurring large losses.
Overall, i am expecting a result at the lower end of consensus of (under 9% ) insurance margin with a smaller forecasted net premium income.
On current prices, the stock is a tad expensive. I am a buyer at under $13.50.
