Sorry BRR, but I would also have to strongly disagree,
The rounds in the XM25 from what I read are capable of attaining a range of 700 metres, so that means it is shooting those rounds as if it were going to the maximum distance, it is the fusing that makes the grenade explode at any given distance, which would not help accuracy with a target that is closer than 700metres, in order to overcome this they could have a round that is meant for say 300metres but you would have to change the rounds to do so whereas the rounds in the 3GL will be capable of firing over a number of ranges from what I read.
As far as the fusing goes well what in the hell do you think the optically fused rounds that metalstorm are now developing a modified tail are for will used in ? it doesn't require modifications to the weapon or the sighting system, the 3GL can determine itself how far away the range to fire is using the sighting system on the rifle from my understanding and the information from the sighting system is passed to an intergrated circuitry for the firing system which then knows how many propellant loads to fire, metalstorm are developing this different range application from what I understand after reading their website and having seen some of their patents, as far as the fusing goes, well like I said I reckon they will be optically fused.
Sorry BRR, but I would also have to strongly disagree,The rounds...
