One other very important aspect of the 3GL that people forget about is the fact that it's range may be scaleable, you don't always have a target beyond 600 meters or more, the target may be only 150 meters away, and that may end up being a very important selling point, the fact that it can fire over a number of ranges without changing ammunition, something the XM25 cant do IMHO
