How China can lay claim to any area south of a line between Nth & Sth Vietnam & the top of the Phillipines beggars belief any way. Their cost line is no where near lower end of the south china sea.
That's a bit like India claiming all the ocean from India to the Antarctic right up to the west Australian coast line.
The US sat on their bumbs & did nothing while the Chinese built their islands & now they want us to get tough?
I don't think so.
I can just hear the US govt saying "lets get the Aussies to go in there & see what the reaction from the Chinese is".
If they shoot down a couple of Aussie planes or sink a ship or three we can just say "well you should not have done that" or we could just shut up & do nothing like we have always done.
The waters are disputed by the other countries in that area, let them go & pump sand to make a few islands for themselves & take on the Chinese, at least make an effort to stand up for themselves.
If that comes unstuck then the rest of the world can get involved.
