    In order for a nation to start up the printing press to support its bonds it must have sufficient reserves or be a reserve currency in demand, otherwise they end up like Zimbabwe. Might explain why Australia is AAA and NZ isn't. Australia's natural resources should be taken into account, and that includes a lot of gold.
