Intelligent Global Pooling Systems (IGPS) is the new main competitor in the pallets sector in the US of Australian-listed Brambles. The former uses plastic for its advanced pallets, and has now issued a study that shows wooden pallets like those distributed by the CHEP operation of Brambles can contain high concentrations of bacteria that cause food poisoning. However, the US Environmental Protection Agency has also warned that the decabromodiphenyl ether chemical used in IGPS pallets can be carcinogenic.
Hmm, a bit of food poisoning that most likely settles down with minimal treatment after a couple of days or long term, potentially debilitating effects of cancer?
I'd prefer the wooden pallets.
