having cash in US $ does not mean the money is in us banks. i dont know much about international currency by the way so i may be wrong.

What type of short term investment would have been available for the 1 billion or so in cash? when and how do us shareholders find out were the cash is invested. 1 billion at 3% interest is about 2.5 million$ a month profit for eg.
