from memory - but didn't the UN have people in Iraq looking for weapons of mass destruction (including chemical weapons) .. lol they could not find any, but that never stopped the americans claiming that they were there .. the narrative was that the Iraqis were bee too clever by half - maybe they were shifting them ahead of any UN visit .. the story was something like that.
the americans had proof - they even had a copy of a receipt for the purchase of uranium by Iraq from Niger.. mmm and some dude (was it powel) that got up in the UN and the americans had definitive proof of mobile chemical factories .. LOL just a semi trailer dropping off a load of goods somewhere .
