BUT now these debt notes are not at 0.25% they are likely to be 3% to 5% (depending on FED cutting rates into 2024) which means a lot more interest expense for the US government, greater deficits, more debt. So its more debt to pay for the interest expense bill.
The US government needs the world to have lots of US dollars to buy this stuff, more USD dollar liqudity , swap lines etc, (a lower US dollar).
Or force more US debt on to US domestic banks who are already filled to the gills with US Treasuries.
If the US Govt cant sell this.. US Dollar up, everything else down!!!!!
OR the FED will have to BE THE BUYER OF LAST RESORT and do more QE!!!
