ASX finishes firmly in the red led by tech

stock head.com.auLarge and small caps both finished down today, with tech the biggest laggard.
The ASX Emerging Companies Index fell 1.47 per cent to 2,064.5 points, the ASX Small Ords fell 0.52 per cent to 3,163.3 and the ASX 200 lost 0.90 per cent, falling to 6,777.8.
The only green sectors were consumer staples and utilities while tech stocks fell by nearly 2.7 per cent.
