It's certainly not all the West's fault. I don't think that it should be seen as an all-or-nothing debate. There should be no doubt though, in the minds of sensible people that the middle east has been significantly and lastingly injured by the policies of our forebears and our contemporary leaders.

In a few years time, it will be the 100 year anniversary that British forces have been dropping bombs on Iraq. Since the inception of the RAF both chemical and conventional attacks have been delivered against Iraqi tribesmen and Kurds. Some of the chemical attacks were done by proxy by the old chum Saddam, some of them delivered directly by the Brits themselves.

A little knowledge of history would serve a lot of people well.
