    Since you're starting in April 1915, I'll give the returns on gold and the DJIA (dividends included) since that date.

    That's right, 2,880,889%

    Gold since April 1915. Was $20.67, now $1,330 = 6,434%.

    So the DJIA has beaten gold since 1915 by 447 times.

    I rest my case.
