I was a the farmers' market at seven this morning buying locally made cheese, drinking local coffee, buying local organic bread, vegetables and fruit. They all grossed much less than the average shop but netted more.
No packaging, no rent, no transport costs, no processing, no staff, no taxes, no pesticides, no fertilisers.
That's the way it used to be and it's becoming that way again.
Average food miles 3-4, not 4,000.
Times are changing fast. The question is, can we keep up with these changes?
Those who don't will go under.
