How long? Remember Paul Keating and the recession we had to have? He was always propping up the AUD by getting the reserve to buy it. He wasn't afraid to admit it either. They do that to avoid inflation. I expect the fed will keep propping up the USD until the recession is over. This is good for China's exports and therefore good for us too. The AUD is holding up remarkably well. The AUD is strengthening against the Yen and holding ground against the USD. I believe that is due to the Japan carry trade. They like our market! IMHO things continue to appear to be in recovery mode.
