Some crude numbers: US population - approx. 265 million 25% coverage - 66.25 million 12.5% Relenza (based on today's update)- 8.28 million doses Say $20 ($US?) per dose - $165.63 million 10% royalty (for US sales)- $16.563 million ($US ?)
This may not eventuate, or may eventuate over a number of years, but the numbers regarding % of Relenza are probably conservative.
BUT...this is one (big) country only and one government order only. A lot is said about government orders, and it is true that they will probably receive priority, but private sector demand must also be considerable from around the world. Biota's immediate future lies in GSK's capacity to fill what, in my mind, is ample demand to fill Biota's coffers. Their capacity to do so bugs me and no doubt many others.
All we need now is the overdue financials which will more that likely be lousy. Short term. it's a bit murky, but longer term still looks very bright to me.
