Fear mongering ? Don't think so - here's reality. My wife and I earn over 100k and we feel we can't afford/ afford the risk of buying a house (and I mean any house). If we feel its unaffordable and refuse to buy at these levels, then over-inflated house prices are more in the spere of reality than fear mongering. I know doctors, nurses, police, teachers etc all in the same frame of mind. If you have professional classes unable to afford houses, what does that tell you? Prices here 7.5 times earnings compared to USA 3.1 It will drop - don't listen to you real estate agent.
