Yes I agree with all that and have similar questions.
They have only a short term plan in the USA which is, believe it or not, short-sighted. The target of generating $100M in sales has been there for quite some time, but it is completely arbitrary and unclear what happens after this.
Not being able to capitalise on the current situation in the USA at the very least, makes the USA management look completely impotent. What harm is there in market testing Stages 3 and 4 right now? There are no FDA barriers to this as it is not infant formula, but at least it is IF-adjacent, to copy the jargon they seem to like so much. They could negotiate a separate agreement with Synlait for this, with provisions to gradually phase over production to Mataura once its capable.
They already have some fresh milk brand recognition, and now the Hershey's tie up which is expanding their customer reach. That's a lot more then BUB had when they launched their own USA Stage 3 and 4 product.
