In one and a half hours the inflation report is out. If inflation is tame then US bonds will rise, interest rates drop and gold will rise. But if inflation is on the move, then US bonds will fall, interest rates rise and gold will fall because interest rate rises support the US dollar. That means low inflation is good for gold. High inflation is bad for gold. Before you start attacking me and saying I know nothing, I am just reporting how the US markets have been responding to inflation figures over the last 12 months.
