Like everything they do they are lying about the
real extent on Unemployment

When I returned from the US after the dot bomb boom
I use to tell people that the US was stuffed by the
huge amount of debt and the low productivity of
their workers.

Even sadder up in Portsmouth NH they had gone through
a major trauma when Pease Air National Guard Base
closed in 1989
There are around 40,000 in Portsmouth and feeder
towns and when the base closed 4,500 direct jobs went
and a lot were civilians let alone secondary jobs.

House prices dropped and huge job losses happened .
But when I got there it was getting a lot better but
had all the people and businesses learned.

No , they were taking out 120% mortgages and leasing
both their cars etc.

If you have ever seen Mythbusters (Blind Driver) in
an ex airforce base ,Pease had over a thousand homes,
huge single men's quarters and an almost mind boggling
array of offices, workshops, theaters ,hangers ,
nuclear bomb storage bunkers etc.

In conclusion
The US is stuffed and any one who says otherwise has
not spent any real time there with their eyes open
