The US wants a ‘friendly’ entity to take control of some copper and cobalt supply in the DRC. Mercuria is in ongoing conversations.
The situation has been complicated by a US sanctioned Israeli billionaire’s royalty entitlement. The UK have been complicit in untangling that kink, in order to progress the possibility of a change of ownership.
The link to JRV being Mercuria and I was wondering if JRV could get involved in a transaction/processing role in some way.
I feel that the fact the US are prepared to lose face in reversing the sanction, for strategic reasons, shows how desperate they are to secure supply ahead of China.
