from a humanity perspective it is tragic , from an economic perspective long term it is a windfall for corporate America ,ie GM will reduce the amount it needs to pay out in pension payments going forward with union members dying early from Covid and potentially a lower tax take from Corporations with less needed for elderly welfare services
