US must raise debt ceiling or default

A couple of articles eg 'raise debt ceiling or default'. US treasury as from 3/11/15 the US will be funded by daily cash flow which is not enough to pay fed wages etc.
So seems only one alternative,raise debt ceiling at the moment but obviously the US has some nasty decisions to make.
So agree why do the banks suggest everything is rosy with such an issue like the US defaulting,why isn't there more talk about the domestic dangers of US debt than our house prices.
