Even assuming that Mahatma Gandhi's efforts represented ONLY success for non violance, (there were some successes on a smaller scale- like Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela who was a convert after pursuing other traditional methods), could that method have been tried again? At least human lives -whether civilains or regualr army on both sides- would have been spared.
