Just some rough calculations and thoughts, happy if anyone has some corrections.
Total world consumption of uranium seems to be around 190 million pounds.
Total world production of uranium was around 140 million pounds pre-COV-19.
Now with production cuts the world production for 2020 will be around 100 million pounds.
Now add the NFWG security stock pile demand is set to increase to 207 million pounds.
Add to this the new start ups of 20 reactors all said to be 1300-1700 Mwe, each of these new reactors will require much more uranium than normal with a full core build up, where already operating reactors only top up one third the amount of fuel. This scenario has quite a few years to run.
Conclusion, the nuclear industry is on the brink of a massive revival.

Silex's strategy has been to get Paducah up and running as the best way to commercialise the laser enrichment technology, and this is a sound strategy. From memory the amount of uranium the new facility will out put is 3-4 million pounds x $60/lb = $ 180,000,000 to $240,000,000 per annum revenue.
After GE and Hitachi pulled out we searched the world for a replacement partner, but a tough uranium market and tight qualification criteria made the search impossible and eventually Cameco and Silex stepped up. Now the market is changing and uranium is in the spot light and I believe in 12 months time it will be even more spectacular. Why would the US not capitalise on this very advanced technology, this report by the NFWG states their renewed focus on making USA a major player in the uranium market and beating Russia and China at their own game of turnkey projects. To help achieve this goal they need superior systems and technology, SMRs and HALEU. Silex must come into consideration and if foreign ownership issue i'm sure we'll have plenty of American Companies in this new uranium market willing to step up, I'm sure we can accommodate them.
I'm still optimistic, but then again i always am optimistic.
