Scaring the littlins was a turn of phrase, but if you take offence, you can replace it with " try providing some in-depth analysis to your comments rather than just spruiking endlessly about blood on the streets" or alternatively, just let it wash over you.

Yes open source is the 6.30 news or anything else that anyone can access. I am hardly the only person on HC who benefits from accessing information not available to the general public and before the regulators start tracking me down, I am not referring to inside information, just geo-pol research that is not published yet.
