Flotilla takes anti-nuclear protest to US sub
Protesters are targeting an American nuclear-powered submarine in the port of Brisbane this morning.
The crew of the USS Columbia docked in Brisbane last weekend for rest and recreation.
The submarine is expected to leave on Tuesday.
Protester Anna Barnes says about 20 boats, with 35 people on board, have taken to the Brisbane River this morning to demonstrate against the danger the nuclear submarine poses to Australia.
"We will certainly be out there with a strong force," Ms Barnes said.
"There is an exclusion zone around the submarine, I think we can get to about 50 metres.
"I will certainly be letting them know that they're not welcome here on Australian shores or in our waters and we certainly don't want to see them back here."
