US patent for OncoSil™ granted by the US PTO SYDNEY, 18 Oct, 2013 : OncoSil Medical Limited (ASX: OSL) is pleased to announce that the US Patent and Trademark Office has allowed issuance of patent application 13/314,239, titled “Devices and Methods for the Treatment of Cancer”. This is a key patent for OncoSil Medical Ltd and provides for patent coverage in the United States for OncoSil™, our nuclear medical device in development for treatment of locally advanced pancreatic cancer. Patent coverage extends to 2022. OncoSil™ provides a localised radiation therapy for tumours, avoiding the systemic side effects of external radiation treatment. OncoSil Medical Ltd will initiate a pivotal study for OncoSil™ in the first quarter of 2014.
