US Patent for “Use of Metal Complexes” Granted

4 May 2012: Anteo Diagnostics Limited (ASX: ADO) is pleased to announce that today the company received
confirmation that the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) has granted the “Use of Metal
Complexes” patent for Mix&Go™ technology. The patent issued on 1 May 2012 as US patent number
8,168,445. The USPTO has also determined that an additional 864 days are required to be added onto the
term of the patent due to delays by the USPTO during examination.
A divisional application from the Use of Metal Complexes patent has been filed and the details of this
divisional application are expected to be published in the once all formalities have been completed.
There are many commercially important reasons to bind biological molecules onto synthetic materials. These
molecules are often fragile and do not react well when exposed to non-biological conditions. Mix&Go™ has
been demonstrated to allow them to retain their activity when bound. The “Use of Metal Complexes” patent
covers the intellectual property (IP) for the use of Mix&Go™ to facilitate this important binding process.
Anteo filed a divisional patent with the USPTO to allow for greater flexibility in commercial negotiations
and to enhance our IP position in licensing discussions.
