Hi dc au,
Some coys announce conferences but I don't think its worthy of announcement. I categorise it as the normal course of business; we'd expect them to get out to these kinds of events. The difference with these bigger type US conferences is the all-important 'speed dating' meeting schedule. Its a bit like the old fashioned dance card where coys like NEA may have some 50-100 slots available to do one-on-ones (for bigger type deals) in a closed room and the whole point of going to the conference is to get those slots 'booked' with quality potential customers before the actual conference starts. Its a hugely competitive scramble to book the premium customers and bribes are known to have occurred.
Lets hope NEA has a good dance card. Who knows...maybe SC will announce how the dates went. But I think we'll more likely see something later in the second half along the lines of 'sales milestones' such as "first US$5m or $10m".
Now that would be significant and worthy of announcement.
Cheers,
