I agree with that.
I did not know my second cousin untill about a month ago. His great grandmother was my great grandmother and I was tracking down my family tree. My great grandmother's husband formed the Opotiki rangers in 1867 to fight the Maoris (Te Kuti). Wealthy British has a scorched earth policy to confiscate land off the Maori . The soldiers ended up with worthless land and the Maoris with hardly any land at all. Similar thing has been happening for the last 25 years in NZ with Government sell off of assets to wealthy friends of politicians -history repeats.
