U.S. Stock-Index Futures Fall on Earnings Reports; Alcoa Drops
July 11 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. stock-index futures fell after Alcoa Inc. and Lucent Technologies Inc. reported earnings that fell short of some analysts' estimates, rekindling concern profit growth will slow.

``The results are giving us different signals than the market expected and that sets a negative tone,'' said Felix Lanters, head of portfolio management at Theodoor Gilissen Bankiers in Amsterdam, which oversees $11.1 billion, about 27 percent of which is in North American stocks.

Standard & Poor's 500 Index futures expiring in September fell 2.8 to 1274.20 at 10:19 a.m. in London. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures declined 30 to 11,146, and Nasdaq-100 Index futures dropped 6.25 to 1531.50.
