I too saw a chart of the US stock market vs GDP in a publication only recently.
From memory the average from the 1960's till today has been an approx capitalisation of 50% of GDP.
As you say, we're currently close to 120% of GDP... and yet you seem to quite calm about this fact.
To me, it's only futher evidence of the asset price bubble in the US.
