US town rejects solar farm, page-9

    What a media whitewash!
If, as a simpleton reporter or HC poster, you can only interpret the very real environmental issues of solar farms by understanding that "the sun is being sucked up" from surrounding areas, then the joke is on you!

The teacher has a VERY VALID argument in the context of protecting vegetation and environment!

It is a solar farm of (an additional) 100 ACRES!
It is not the first for the town, but the THIRD massive farm of grey panels to be built on uncleared woodland.

The cleared/shade area in an environmental context is not limited to the area of the panels alone.
The vegetation is obliterated.  Any vegetation able to grow both under and AROUND the panels is affected by limited sunlight with movement of the sun throughout the day and through differing seasons.  Limited hours of sunlight means limited growth.

In an environmental sense, Apple may as well be building a new 100 ACRE carpark.
