Hear that it still happens for individuals who are prepared to pay big money for a Rhino or whatever. Happens on "private" reserves where the US$150K means a lot to the upkeep of the farm. Population growth within parks can be a problem from what I read but there is at least an effort being made to increase the size of parks rather than culling.
Kruger has opened the fence (top part) with Mozambique frontier park so animals and poachers are able to move more freely.
If you really want to donate try the national parks or some specialised Rhino park, I'm sure they'd love to expand.
