Who are China's friends again? Oh yeah North Korea, Iran, Russia and Pakistan......I think that collections speaks for itself. And a few impoverished countries it can easily bribe.
The countermeasure is clear and is starting to happen. The democratic, developed world need to more closely align and work together.....USA, Canada, Australia, Western Europe, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India.......quite a collection.
Slowly block Chinese investment in sensitive areas (as is already happening), block Chinese high tech, biotech and critical industry companies out completely (as has started with Huawei) and look to diversify supply chains out of China (also starting to happen). Let China continue to be a factory for producing low tech goods but shut them out of high tech and critical areas in the developed world.
