I originally intended to exit BIP at about this point, but having finally received the distribution notification and going through the exercise of activating the account and doing the w8-ben thing etc, I have started to reconsider where to place the proceeds.
While not compelling at this point, the BIP story however doesn't seem to look too bad. By holding BIP it would continue to give me the diversification which attracted me to Prime in the first place. Also given the uncertainty of where the AUS $ might be later in the year, holding a diversified international asset might have some merit on its own.
Starting to look into it further I came across this blog http://dividendmonk.com/brookfield-infrastructure-partners-bip-dividend-stock-analysis-2010/ which is making me think a bit more before pulling the sell trigger on BIP.
How many people are going to stay on the ride? Am I dumb for contemplating it?
