USA could easily pay off its current account deficit right?

those who say it would have to print more money or sell all gold in fort knox arnt right.

USA could say cut defence spending by 30%/yr for a few yrs and that would pay off most of debt.

Or cut health spending or education spending for 2 or 3yrs, i think USA would rather cut spending for 2-3yrs than do nothing watch current account deficit keep balloning and watch USA go bankrupt when one day everyone will loose confidence in US$.
