In regards to LANI
My post at the start of this thread included:
''So that is looking very, very promising, and
there are other drugs which we are now
considering funding as we go forward. We have
a solicitation of received proposals to move
forward with not only for new types of drugs
but also combination therapies''
I can confirm it is LANI they are now testing so must be funding.Great News for LANI.Fingers crossed.
From October 6th 2009
''Three drugs are now in clinical testing, including a long-acting neuraminidase inhibitor, an inhibitor of viral replication, and a drug that prevents the virus from entering human lung cells. NIH has begun evaluating how well these candidate antiviral drugs block the 2009 H1N1 strain and screening other compounds for activity against the virus. NIH intends to conduct clinical trials of antivirals, including new formulations and combinations of licensed drugs and investigational antiviral candidates, in individuals infected with the 2009 H1N1 influenza virus.
