re: USA talk on Obviously you must be long gold shares and you want gold to go up.

But beware!

There has been an ever increasing accumulation of gold by punters on the expectations that 9/11 and Iraq would spark a rise in the metal.

a rise did occur but the accumulation of gold vs the price rise may be interpreted as a suckers rally before the metal drops to retest the 300/oz level.

9/11 is gone with no further action and Iraq remains to hold gold up.

Gold drifted lower on Friday NY close with accumulation still occuring.
If the weak longs decide to get out then gold could well trade below 315/oz (dec contract) and then its a new ball game.
