industrialists are smarter than politicians

both industrialists and military know that a war with China is unwinnable -

and, in the end - possibly China could actually beat the USA - if that happened - then, the industrialists would be buggered

they also know that a lot of their money from investments comes via China - so, it's not in their interests overall

but, they do know that they want to sell guns and bullets - so, it's in their interest to have wars - but, they don't have to be their wars - they could be someone else's wars and that would do very nicely

there's only so many pennies to be made from selling out of date tanks to buffoons like Australian Liberals and sure, there's a bob in selling nuc subs - but, someone is going to wise up to that soon as well

no - they need actual wars for others to be in - it's unlikely that NZ and Oz will have a war with China and the US is loath to be in actual combat there - unless they can bring on a fake 9/11 and blame china - that might sway public opinion -

but, people don't trust the USA now - so, that's not as easy as it used to be
