I think USCOM are better placed to deal with this situation than they have ever been and from what I know (reading between the lines) there was not much in the way of staff holidays this year. As you can imagine the staff have to do their best in an environment where there would be many conflicting forces in many competing bureaucracies all struggling to shore up their position and address the specific issue dear to their heart.
The powers that have the money and make the rules, have already swung into action with a new hospital and I doubt they will skimp on procuring the equipment required.
What concerns me is: in the panic to put out the "fire" no one might address the issue of collecting and coordinating the output of the 1A devices already in use. There are already a lot of teams working very hard to understand the life cycle of this virus and to them this information should be invaluable.
