That proposition that EVERYONE now owns gold is too preposterous to even contemplate. Actually, no, please do contemplate. Just look around you, do all your next door neighbours own gold, or all of your work colleagues, or even all of your extended family???
The likely hood is that if you do actually own gold you will be in a group of maybe 0.2% of the population that does.........
