"Why would you bother tho? not enough volume for a smelter to look at it. Perhaps on USA volumes?"

Mate when you don't quantify, any claim can be made look OK.

MHM’s original presentation quoted 50,000 tpa of Al80 is produced in Oz and 10 times that in US.

Note that Al2O3 contains 53% Al.

    That’s a heap of Al and $!!!!!!

Dunno what your smoking (– maybe its me---- LOL!) but I understood the attraction of MHM tech is its claim that it achieves 100% recycling.

Currently, there’s a prob in finding a cost effective use for Al80.

So, although they have achieved getting Al80 reclassified as a non dangerous good – which is significant achievement- but it does not value add.

I don’t know % of Al in orebody, but if its 2%, very basic calc shows using Al2O3 using Al80 as feedstock - would certainly make it a valuable commodity.

    But all this is academic.

For some reason, there is a prob using Al80 (assume Al80 is pure Al2O3) as feedstock.

Note I'm not suggesting the above is an answer, I’m simply asking why?
